OUR CAPABILITIES

Precision CNC Milling Equipment

We provide both horizontal and vertical CNC milling services. Within our 53,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, state-of-the-art equipment ensures that every finished part meets exacting tolerances. Our capabilities include 3-, 4-, and 5-axis horizontal and vertical machining centers, featuring tables that accommodate parts up to 40.16 inches (1020 mm) wide and 25.20 inches (640 mm) deep.

Horizontal Milling Services

Unlike vertical machining centers, horizontal mills position the spindle and workpiece horizontally. This configuration requires a more robust support structure, resulting in enhanced rigidity and stability—making horizontal machining centers ideal for heavy-duty operations.

Our horizontal CNC milling services deliver significant advantages, including improved chip evacuation. Chips fall away naturally from the workpiece and tool, reducing recutting and minimizing heat buildup. This leads to better surface finishes, longer tool life, and higher machining accuracy.

We operate Makino a51nx—a 400mm pallet horizontal machining center equipped with advanced technologies that elevate productivity, precision, and reliability. This machine allows us to produce large, complex components in fewer operations and with faster cycle times compared to vertical mills.

Key features of the Makino a51nx include:

● A 14,000-rpm high-torque spindle (240 Nm), ideal for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials

● 1G axis acceleration and a direct-drive B-axis to reduce non-cutting time

● A rigid cast structure and roller-type linear guides for full utilization of the work envelope

● One-piece way covers (X, Z) and a dual-supported tool-change arm for exceptional reliability

Technical Specifications – Makino a51nx

Vertical Milling Services

Vertical milling delivers high-quality, cost-effective machining. Its vertical spindle orientation provides exceptional rigidity with a simple structure, making 3 and 4-axis centers an efficient solution for a wide range of needs. This setup is highly effective for precision drilling, contouring, and producing features like holes, notches, and 3D shapes. It is the ideal process for applications including engraving, grooving, tapping, and threading.

While our Makino 5-axis machines, with their simultaneous machining capabilities, allow us to handle highly complex geometric CNC prototypes and production parts, we also utilize 3- to 4-axis CNC machines for components that do not require complex geometries. This gives us the flexibility to match your project to the most suitable manufacturing process—optimizing efficiency and reducing cost without compromising quality.

What materials can be used in CNC milling?

CNC milling can be used with a wide range of materials, including metals (such as aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel), plastics (such as ABS, nylon, polycarbonate), and composites (such as carbon fiber, fiberglass).

What types of parts can be produced with CNC milling?

CNC milling is capable of producing virtually any part with precision, from simple flat brackets to highly complex, multi-axis 3D geometries. It is the standard for creating robust, functional, and high-tolerance components. Common applications include:

● Prototypes for form, fit, and function testing

● Brackets, Housings, & Enclosures

● Gears, Pulleys, & Drive Components

● Jigs, Fixtures, & Tooling

● End-Use Production Parts for aerospace, automotive, and consumer products

What is your suggestion as design consideration for CNC milling?

To ensure your parts are not only manufacturable but also cost-effective and high-quality, we recommend adhering to the following design principles. These guidelines help leverage the full potential of CNC milling while avoiding common pitfalls that increase cost and lead time.

Key Design Considerations:

● Leverage Tight Tolerances Strategically: While we can achieve tolerances as tight as ±0.005 mm for critical features, apply them judiciously. Specify tight tolerances only where absolutely essential for function to reduce costs and simplify manufacturing.

● Optimize Pocket Depths: To ensure accuracy and avoid tool deflection, limit pocket depths to a maximum of four times the tool’s diameter. Deeper pockets require specialized tools and processes, impacting time and cost.

● Design Internal Corners with Radii: Always include a radius in internal corners. A good rule of thumb is a radius ≥ 1/3 of the cavity depth, with a minimum radius of 0.5 mm. This allows the use of standard end mills and prevents tool breakage.

● Chamfer Sharp External Edges: Incorporate 45° chamfers (minimum 0.3 mm) on all external vertical edges. This simplifies deburring, enhances part safety, and improves aesthetic quality.

● Fillet Pocket Floors: Add fillets (R ≥ 0.5 mm) at the base of pockets and between vertical walls and floors. This minimizes stress concentrations and improves the part’s long-term durability.

● Maintain Minimum Wall Thickness: Ensure structural integrity by designing walls no thinner than 0.8 mm for metals and 1.5 mm for plastics. Thin walls are prone to vibration during machining and can lead to part failure.

● Simplify Complex Geometry: While 5-axis machining can produce incredible complexity, it is often unnecessary. Avoid compound curvatures that require simultaneous 5-axis machining unless critical to the design, as this significantly increases programming and machining time.

What types of finishes can you provide?

We offer a comprehensive range of finishing services to meet aesthetic, protective, and functional requirements. Our standard offerings include:

● Anodizing (Type II, Type III / Hardcoat)

● Plating (Nickel, Chrome, Zinc)

● Powder Coating

● Painting

● Bead Blasting & Brushing

● Passivation & Black Oxide

This is not an exhaustive list. If you have a specific finish or industry specification in mind, please let us know. Our team will work with you to identify and source the best finishing solution for your project.

How long does it take to complete a CNC milling project?

Lead times are determined by three primary factors: part complexity, order quantity, and material selection. A simple, single-part prototype may be completed in a few days, while a complex, high-volume production run will understandably take longer.

We prioritize clear communication and will provide you with a detailed and accurate project timeline during the quoting process. Our project management approach is designed to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery for every order.

What is your minimum order quantity?

We proudly offer no minimum order quantity (MOQ). We are equipped to support projects of any scale, from a single prototype for validation to high-volume production runs. Our flexible manufacturing model is designed to grow with your needs.

What is your pricing structure?

Our pricing is transparent and based on the specific requirements of your project. Key factors include:

● Part  Complexity: Geometry, tight tolerances, and fine finishes.

● Material Selection: Type of material and raw stock size.

● Order Quantity: Volume of parts.

● Secondary Operations: Any required surface finishing or post-processing

Do you offer design assistance?

Absolutely. Our team of experienced engineers provides complimentary Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis. We will review your designs and suggest optimizations for cost-efficiency, performance, and manufacturing simplicity, ensuring your part is produced to the highest quality standard.

What is your warranty policy?

While we strive for and are recognized for “zero-defect quality,” we believe in transparent and accountable partnerships. In the rare event of a manufacturing defect, all our parts are covered by a comprehensive warranty.

If you experience any issues, please contact us immediately. We prioritize these concerns and will initiate a swift investigation to diagnose and resolve the problem, which may include reworking, replacing the parts, or providing a credit, as appropriate to the situation.
